Riesling is perhaps what Eden Valley is best known for. These wines are charming when young, showcasing vibrant lime-citrus notes, delicate white floral aromas, and a refreshingly dry palate. However, it's the evolving complexity, depth of flavour, and the maturing power that truly captivate enthusiasts. Our Mirooloo Road Riesling continues the tradition of the region's Riesling legacy, built upon Phil's experience working with Riesling legend, Mr. John Vickery. His philosophy was clear: the wine must be full of FLAVOUR, and there should be no shortcuts from harvest through to bottling. Every step, from pressing to fermentation, blending, and bottling, requires meticulous attention and care to achieve exceptional results. All these Rieslings come from a single vineyard block on Mirooloo Road in Flaxman's Valley, employing consistent winemaking techniques. The fascinating aspect of tasting a vertical like this is observing how only the vintage conditions and bottle ageing contribute to the unique character of each wine.

The 2017 Riesling hails from a vintage that exemplifies what Eden Valley Riesling should be, standing out with its show-stopping qualities of lime-marmalade, toast, and honeycomb on the nose, complemented by a fresh, rich, and expressive palate. The 2018, from an earlier and drier season, presents a more mineral and classic profile. Moving to 2019, this vintage strikes a delightful balance between youthful vibrancy and the nuanced complexity that comes with some age, with a gentle acidity that makes it particularly drinkable. The 2020 vintage, also from a dry season, achieved our highest 'Halliday' score yet, earning a remarkable 97 points; very little of this exceptional wine remains. The 2021 vintage is celebrated for its mid-palate richness and crisp, enduring acidity. Lastly, the 2022 vintage, from another stellar year, offers an inviting freshness that only gets better as it ages.
