This Riesling captures the classic Eden Valley lime and jasmine fragrance, but its flavour levels are cranked up. Despite fermenting to dryness (no residual sugar), Mirooloo Road has a generous and ripe Riesling flavour that makes it a plush and inviting wine.
While Mirooloo Road is a great wine when young, it's well suited to aging for ten or more years. Phil picks the grapes at an optimum ripeness so the wine has great flavour weight and depth. Phil developed his style during his formative years by making Vickery Rieslings with John Vickery's mentorship and collaboration.
In its first year, this wine is delicious, with green limes and florals present, and a tight acidity. However, Rieslings from this region can age for many years, becoming richer, toastier, and honeyed with time.
